Year over year, there has been a 42% increase in optimism among IT professionals in the US, according to our latest market report.
It’s no secret that tech professionals are in demand, especially as ‘big data’ gains more interest as a buzzword in the market. Companies are looking for A-level talent who can analyze and interpret mass quantities of data, unlike we have been able to do in the past. These software engineers and data scientists don’t even need to look for employment – they are being approached constantly with offers at companies of all sizes.
Web development professionals continue to be in demand with skill sets across various languages and the pay rate for all IT professionals has continued to impress. All of this surely contributes to why 78% of IT professionals indicated that they are optimistic about the future of the job market.
With this demand also comes job security. While IT professionals have always been well-paid and well-demanded, we have also seen a 13% increase in professionals who are secure or very secure in their current roles.
Overall, the employers should be the ones worrying about security. Maintaining this level of talent is going to continue to be a struggle throughout 2014 because tech experts are looking for more than just salary.
