Although it is common conception that IT professionals are only looking for salary, we have seen an increase in the number of professionals who are looking for more than just money.
When polled about why they left their last role, professionals in the tech space listed career development as their top reason, with a 65% increase in those indicating that this was the main factor in leaving. We also saw a 19% reduction in those who are highly satisfied in their roles, perhaps indicating that employers are not providing enough opportunities for their IT staff members to move up the ladder.
In fact, this year, 39% of tech professionals revealed that the primary reason they are dissatisfied in their current role is because of their manager.
